Account & Data Deletion

How to ask us to delete your Fire Guy account and the personal information we hold about you.

Effective: 10 September 2026Last updated: 10 September 2026

1. How to request deletion

To request that your Wenbru SBMS — DEMO app account and associated personal information be deleted, email us with the subject line “Account deletion request”:

Please include the email address the account uses and your full name, so we can identify the right record. We may ask one or two questions to confirm it is really you before we delete anything — deleting the wrong person’s account would be worse than the delay.

We acknowledge requests within 5 working days and complete them within 30 days. If anything must be kept for the legal reasons in section 3, we will tell you exactly what and why.

2. Who this applies to

Wenbru SBMS — DEMO is a business application used by our own staff. Accounts are not self-created — an owner issues a login to an employee. That means two different situations:

  • You are a staff member with a Wenbru SBMS — DEMO login. You can ask for your account and your personal details to be deleted. If you have left the business, tell us and we will deactivate the login immediately and delete it on the timeline above.
  • You are a customer whose details appear on a quote, invoice or equipment record. You do not have a login, but you can still ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to section 3.

3. What is deleted, and what we must keep

Deleted on request:

  • Your app login and password, and any session or device registration tied to it (including the notification token that lets us send alerts to your phone).
  • Your name, email address and phone number as a staff user.
  • Any draft quote saved on your device that has not been submitted.
  • Enquiries, contact-form messages and booking requests, once they have been dealt with.

Kept, because the law requires it:

  • Tax and accounting records — quotes, invoices and delivery receipts are retained for at least five years, as required by South African tax law. We cannot delete an issued tax invoice on request.
  • Equipment and service records — retained while you remain a customer and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can prove a fire-safety inspection or service actually happened.
  • Security audit logs — a tamper-evident record of sensitive actions. These are kept for security and accountability and are not deleted on request.

Where we must keep a record, we keep only what the law needs and nothing more, and we do not continue to use it for anything else. When the retention period ends, it is securely deleted or de-identified.

4. Uninstalling the app is not the same as deleting your account

Removing the Wenbru SBMS — DEMO app from your phone deletes what is stored on the device, but it does not delete your account or the records held on our systems. If you want the account itself removed, you must send the request in section 1.

If you have unsent work on the device — a quote you started but have not submitted — send it before uninstalling. Once the app is removed, an unsubmitted draft cannot be recovered.

5. Your other rights

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you may also ask us to confirm what we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, or object to how we use it. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full.

Requests go to our Information Officer, Wenbru (demonstration instance), at demo@wenbru.example. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
